Living Within, Living Without
Welcome to The Green Feat’s new blog about the quest to live more sustainably. Here you’ll find practical tips (think recipes, instructions, and suggestions for solving common and not-so-common problems), reflections on the challenges we face, encouragement when things are tough, and celebration of the joys that are possible despite — or perhaps because of — our quest to “power down.” There may be an occasional book or movie review, and spotlights on businesses or nonprofit organizations working to solve our common crisis. And, though in general we’re skeptical of buying more stuff in order to live more sustainably, we acknowledge that sometimes the right tool or product can be hugely helpful in cutting consumption — so when we come across those things we’ll mention them here.
This blog is a companion to our various “Task of the Month” programs, which consist of monthly emails describing one step participants can take toward living more sustainably. There’s not a lot of space in those emails to get into detail or discussion of the suggestions offered, so readers will be directed here for more information. Even if you’re participating in a Task of the Month program, you might want to subscribe to this blog, since not every topic will be linked to those monthly emails.
As always, your feedback is welcome. What are your biggest challenges? What has worked, what has not? Have you encountered unexpected benefits or setbacks? What motivates you? How do you get others on board? Leave a comment, or send us an email.
Thanks for reading!
